THE ED THAT NEVER WAS

I worked on the Ed the grocer proposal for a full year. A labor of love, the presentation was the full deal: a 20-page proposition complete with story breakdowns, character designs and full color prints, delivered in a brown shopping bag emblazoned with Ed's image.

With the sort of deft timing I have repeatedly shown in this industry, I chose The Summer Comics Died to shop the proposal around.

If there was a worse year to try to sell a new comic than 1995, well, I guess it'd have to be any year following it. Anything that wasn't deformed guys in colored underwear trying to kill 15 year olds in high heels with breasts the size of their heads...wait, I'm off track...who had the breasts here?

As I was saying, it was like trying to sell robots to monkeys. At least I think that was my point.

Through the glory of technology however, I can still share a bit of Ed with the world.
